My siblings, mother and I were seated in front of a packed crowd of friends, family and high school students witnessing my fathers passing. Mass starts as we hear the words of scriptures and faith before the first born reads the eulogy. He reads his piece as he refrains the display of weakness during the speech. He finishes and we proceed to listen to the pastor end the mass.

The casket enters the hearse. I walk down the aisle with my head low with my hair hiding my face while the tears slide down my cheek. The eyes of the crowd follows me as I exit the church. A lengthy moment where myself and family were the spotlight of grief. I remember it well.

He died on March 8th, 2003.

I miss you Dad. Wish you were here.
